It appears that you have reopened an old forum thread. Can you confirm if the behavior you are reporting is the same as the original post where when a user backgrounds the app in the middle of the ad, the ad is paused? If this is not exactly the same, we suggest that you open a new forum thread for better tracking of issues.
On the other hand, if it is the same issue, kindly provide to us the below information so we can investigate further.
- You mentioned that this happens on tvOS. However, the latest version for tvOS is v4.8.2 (https://developers.google.com/interactive-media-ads/docs/sdks/tvos/client-side/download). The latest version you mentioned v3.19.1 is for iOS SDK. Can you confirm where you seeing the behavior? Is it on iOS SDK or tvOS SDK? You may refer here for more information (https://developers.google.com/interactive-media-ads).
- Is the issue happening on client-side or DAI?
- Screen recording of the behavior on your end
- Sample project implementation where the issue is reproducible
- Steps to replicate the behavior
- Affected device (name and version)

- Sorry for the confusion, I'm using an unofficial repo so I can use SPM and I accidentally glanced at the iOS version. I am using 4.8.2 on tvOS.
- Client side.
- Here's a screen recording showing the behavior. When the test ad plays down to 8 seconds, I hit the home button and go back into the app. At that point, the ad is paused. Notice, I can hit the back button and the app is still usable.
- Sample project will be tougher but I can work on it.
- Will provide steps when I have a sample project.
- I see the same behavior on a Simulator running tvOS 16.1 as well as a physical Apple TV HD running tvOS 16.5.
