Hi

I'll start by say "thank you" for this amazing igoogle widget

I decided to try to make a skin on my free time. So I took an old css
from your examples and changed just few things to see differences. I
use google code to store my files

the problem is, I don't see any changes on the skin untill many hours
when, suddenly, changes happens.
You may be better than me in finding reasons, because it's hard to
test it when it changes once a day ^^

best regards

Hi there,

All skins in the directory are cached on by the Google cache - except
skins loaded via the testing mode which deliberately don't use the
cache to make testing possible.

If you are seeing now immediate changes then either something's wrong
with the Google caching period or possibly something else is caching
your skin. Try emptying your browser cache and/or doing a ctrl-f5 to
reload the page. If this does not work then let me know. People would
not have been able to make all these skins without having this feature
working so I'd be grateful if you could post back.

As a workaround you could try appending some meaningless query string
to your css url when you enter it into the gadget settings e.g.
http://domain.com/css/test.css?abc=123.

Cheers

I'm sorry, this is really not working good for me

I can put anything on the css testing link, it woult still stay on the
old one

here is my skin css:
http://igoogleskinmourf.googlecode.com/files/dystopia2.css

this is really nothing for now, from the aquarius.css I only changed
an image and some bgcolors to make first tests so I'ts kinda ugly
right now

hope you find something.

sorry my english is not perfect, that's not my first language

thanks for helping me

I think I see your problem. You are using the files area of Google
Code and not the subversion repository which is located at
http://igoogleskinmourf.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/.

Use subversion. It's much easier and gives you better control of your
version history. For instructions see this thread -
http://groups.google.com/group/igskins/browse_thread/thread/94763d376c6a0f43#

Hope this helps!

thanks,

I already tried the cvs help from this link but when I try to create,
my password (from the link) does not work (they are all against me :
( )
I used an old svn from another program I made before, but still the
same, I know this thing must work, but anything I make in the css test
link of the widget (and is well saved) dont change anything on the
apearance, (I took a really different css this time to be sure :( )

really sorry for my problems, I'd just love to make my personal
skin :' )

Hi again,

I'm not quite sure what you mean but you need to use a decent svn (!=
cvs) client like tortoise http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org/ and your
Google Code subversion password can be found at http://code.google.com/hosting/settings

Good luck!

ok i'm now on google code, it's working (works bettor on https ^^)

I took all files in the bluedream svn, put it into mine and changed
the links for the pictures with my svn path

now I have no more skin, only the basic google one

I'm kinda desperate right now, no more ideas

http://igoogleskinmourf.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/style.css

nothing work :(

Strange problem. You URL was not working for me so I took your skin
and uploaded to here http://igskins.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/skins/test/test.css
and it works. The only thing I changed was to remove the charset
definition at the very top. Can you try removing that to see if it
works?

this is getting stranger everytime

I tried without charset but did not change anything, and this was the
bluedream css so the charset was here before

strangest thing ever, If I put the http://igoogleskinmourf.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/style.css
in the css test link field, I have:
http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/2481/withfi9.jpg

(ctrl + f5 would not help)
if then, i leave the link field blank, I have this:
http://img409.imageshack.us/img409/7172/withoutko4.jpg

wich is a version of my skin that seems up-to-date, sometimes ^^

really really sorry for all that problems I brought, think I'm gonna
try to continue because in that way it quite work ^^, will see what
happen later

thanks for all
