I'm finding it hard to figure out how to upload files to Google Code
Hosting using Tortoise, or by any other method, for that matter. I
think I can manage from there, but I've never used anything Subversion-
related before. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In essence, once you've done it once it's a breeze.
Forgive me for not spelling out exactly everything that you need -
there are many resources which offer very good tutorial - have a dig
on Google. Here's one. http://pisa.ucsd.edu/cse125/2006/CVSTutorial.html
Go ahead and setup a Google Code project hosting account.
http://code.google.com/hosting/createProject In essence, you will need
to access subversion via tortoise using https and this in turn will
require authentication - your google account username and your google
code subversino password from this page http://code.google.com/hosting/settings
n.b. it's not your google account password but a machine generated
password for svn only.
Then you can commit (upload) and update (download) files from your
Google Code hosting server using tortoise.
If you still are having difficulties, come back and I'll give you some
more pointers. Once you get into the swing of it, you'll be fine!
