Utah Game Dev Choice Awards 2024

Plans are still in development for the award show this year, but here is some information and a question for the community:

Where to host the award show for Dec 14th 2024?

The award show is our annual award show to celebrate work done by Utah game developers in the past year.

We are seeking more presenters and volunteers to help make it a successful event.
We are also accepting submissions. There is no entry fee. At least one person on your team must have worked in Utah for a majority of the game's development. The game must be released (early access counts) on its initial platform from last year Nov 1st to this year Nov 1st. A game can only be submitted once.
We sometimes have a "best startup" category if enough new game companies have formed that year. Please let me know if you know of any new game companies here.

The tentative date/time this year is Dec 14th at 4pm but that may change depending on the venue.

I'd love if this could be held somewhere in person—whether at Neumont or elsewhere. Always a great opportunity to get people from the community together.

(This year it won't conflict with Craft Lake City's Ogden Winter Market, which is great!)

I'd be interested in volunteering, too! Please email me or message me on Discord to let me know what you need and I'll see what I can do.

Also suggesting Dreamscapes. The folks running it told me they'll be renting it/a section of it out for events. Could be a really fun environment. I say, not knowing shit about shit about this beyond the word "event."

Update:
It looks very likely that we will be doing the awards on Thursday Dec 12th at 7:30pm (volunteers arrive 7pm to set up) at Neumont, but awaiting final confirmation still.

Does anyone have a friend that might be willing to 3d print our awards this year, or is anyone interested in donating or sponsoring physical awards (~$75 through my usual vendor)? If not, we might have to skip the physical awards and just get a volunteer to print certificates or something. Any thoughts or suggestions, let me know!

Update:
Due to a scheduling mistake we had to change the date again. We are now finalizing the awards event date as Thursday Dec 5th at 7:30pm.

More details for the Utah Game Developers Choice Awards 2024 coming up in two weeks!

Thursday Dec 5th at 7:30pm, with awards starting at 8pm and lasting until about 9pm. Help with cleanup/putting chairs back is appreciated.
No official after party (unless a volunteer finds a suitable place that I missed), but feel free to invite others to grab food or drinks after!

Directions and Parking
Neumont is at 143 S Main St, Salt Lake City, UT 84111 and is near a TRAX station for those using public transit.
City Creek is the most convenient parking, but you can try for street parking or the Regent Street Parking garage as well.
