Hello everyone,

I've been trying to install AtoM 2.5 on CentOS7, but as there's no documentation of the installation on CentOS7 i've been struggling to get everything to work propperly.
I'm currently stuck at 502 Bad Gateway page right before the AtoM's web configuration (got this error after deleting nginx default.conf).
I'm trying to get it to work with MySQL 5.7; Nginx; ElasticSearch 5.x; PhP 7.2; they are all activated and running at the moment. (I've followed the installation process from Ubuntu 18.04 from accesstomemory.org but with my CentOS7 research on MySQL, PhP, ES, Nginx).
I'd like to know if there is any updated tutorial of the CentOS7 installation or if there's a proper fix to the 502 issue.

Cheers,

Hi Matheus,

You may in fact be already there! There is a known issue we are investigating with the installer timing out, but with a simple workaround. Please see this thread:
In the meantime, we've filed a ticket to track this issue and hope to include a more permanent fix in a future release. See:
Let us know if that helps!

Hey Dan,

Unfortunately it didn't work, notice that my error is 502 and you suggested a solution to error 504.
I didn't got to the AtoM installation yet, my last step was to create the mysqld.cnf file and restart mysql.
Opening localhost do nothing, the error 502 Bad Gateway appears and none of the /configureSite; /loadData works.
Best Regards,

Hi Matheus,

My apologies for misreading! To answer your original question, one of our system administrators shared this gist a while ago with some installation instructions for CentOS/RHEL that work for AtoM 2.5. I couldn't find the link yesterday but I've bookmarked it now!
In terms of the 502 error - I would first try re/starting PHP-FPM to see if that helps resolve the issue. I've found a couple older suggestions in the forum that might point you in the right direction should that fail to help. See:

Hello,

Try this in mysql:

GRANT REFERENCES ON *.* TO 'atom'@'localhost';

Hi,

   I want to thank you guys for the help and the quick responses;
The Gist installation Dan posted really helped me, I managed to acquire more knowledge on the CentOS installation, however I couldn't yet get it to work properly, I'm currently stuck at 403 Forbidden localhost browser screen, and I've ensured that Nginx have every permission it needs at /usr/share/nginx/atom/. If there's already a thread on this error, please let me know when possible, I'd like to comprehend better the error and try to fix/workaround it in the future.
As of now, I don't have much more time to work on it. I'm gonna stick to the Ubuntu installation and come back to CentOS in the future.

Best Regards,

Matheus Baumgarten

Hi Matheus, I appreciate that your post is > 6 months ago, but I now have AtoM working on :
CentOS 8, MariaDB 10,4, Apache 2.4.37, PHP 7.4 and ES 5.6.16
I've had to put some effort into solving various installation glitches on Ubuntu and CentOS but I'd be happy to share my setup if you're still looking to get going on Centos/RHEL
I've noted from using the debug mode that there are a lot of PHP warnings being suppressed under the hood, but the core functionality seems fine.
The earlier CentOS thread that Dan shared is probably in need of an update soon.
Cheers
Grant

Hi Grant,

I would be interested in any documentation regarding installing AtoM on CentOS8/RHEL8.
We've been running on RHEL6 and now as it is approaching EOL we're looking at a rebuild.

Regards,
George

Thank you for preparing and sharing this information, Grant!

Do you mind if I add this to our wiki, so we can point other users to it more easily in the future when this question inevitably comes up again?

Thanks in advance!

Hi group,

thanks so much for this tutorial.

I would like to know if anyone has a tutorial to install AtoM 2.6 in CENTOS7?

Thanks,
