Traducción a Catalán

Buenos días,

He activado el idioma catalán para poder ir traduciendo en caso de interés. No obstante, no me aparece la herramienta de traducción en la aplicación y sí en español por ejemplo. Debo habilitarla de otro modo?

Mi instalación está basada en Linux con MySQL y Apache2.

Apologies, I am using Google Translate to read your question, so I might not be understanding it correctly.

For AtoM 2.0, we have begun using an external service, Transifex, to manage our user translations. We have created basic instructions for using these here (in English): https://www.accesstomemory.org/community/translate/

There have already been many Catalan translation submissions in AtoM - so if you are using AtoM 2.0.1, 96% of the interface should already be translated into Catalan - see: https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/atom/language/ca/

To change the interface and make sure that Catalan is available in the language menu in AtoM, you will first have to add it via Admin > Settings > Il8n languages. See: https://www.accesstomemory.org/docs/2.0/user-manual/administer/settings/#add-remove-languages

Note that, after adding a language via the Admin menu, you will have to have to rebuild the search index after: In the command line, please run:

php symfony search:populate

It's generally a good idea to clear the cache after as well

php symfony cc

After you have done this, you should now be able to select Catalan from the Language menu in the AtoM header bar (i.e. the globe icon). See: https://www.accesstomemory.org/en/docs/2.0/user-manual/getting-started/getting-started/#choose-language

If you wish to contribute further, or suggest corrections to the Catalan translations, you will need to create a Transifex account. Please follow the instructions in https://www.accesstomemory.org/community/translate/

Thank you Dan for your help.

I wrote in Spanish because I see other posts and some answers on it from the community. However, I have no problem to write in english.

I am using the version 1.4, not 2.x. I've followed all the steps that you have mentioned, however I cannot execute the command "php symfony search:populate", so I receive the error message:

The execution of task "search:populate" failed.

  - Not enough arguments.

Maybe I forget something...

By the way, I see the project in Transifex and I've downloaded the file .xlf for catalan, but I cannot find any documentation how to add this translate in my system.

La barra de traducción no aparece cuando el idioma en el que tienes la interfaz coincide con el parámetro de configuración default_culture (en settings.yml). Si cambias default_culture creo que podrás acceder a la barra de traducción.

Podrías intentar descargarte de Transifex las últimas traducciones en catalán disponibles, pero el proceso no es sencillo y requiere el uso de la línea de comandos además de algunas dependencias como phing o el cliente tx. En concreto, hay un target en phing llamado i18n-pull-translations que podría hacer el trabajo por ti, pero puede que encuentras algunas complicaciones en el camino.

He revisado el idioma que tengo por defecto en settings.yml y me aparece "en". Cuando pongo el idioma es me funciona correctamente, pero no cuando cambio a catalan que no veo la barra de traducción.

No he probado de cargar las traducciones de Transifex, pues lo he estado mirando y veo que es algo que me supera. No hay una guía paso a paso?

Creo que estás trabajando con la versión 1.3 de ICA-Atom, verdad?
Estuve mirando y no hay instalado -en esa versión-, el idioma catalán. En ICA-AtoM los archivos de idioma se guardan en las carpetas i18n, puedes verlas en las carpeta plugins, por ejemplo en qtTrilliumPlugin.
Yo lo que te aconsejaría es que vayas revisando en ICA-AtoM todas esas carpetas i18n y añadas una nueva llamada "ca" (correspondiente al idioma catalán). Si entras en la carpeta de "es" por ejemplo, verás que contiene un archivo messages.xml. Yo copiaría ese archivo a nuestra carpeta "ca". Acabo de hacer una prueba y de esta forma si que te aparece la barra de traducción. Evidentemente las pantallas te aparecerán en castellano pero podrás traducirlo.
Por favor, prueba de esta forma y a ver que te sale ;-)
