I'm trying to set up AtoM on a Ubuntu 14.04 instance on Amazon EC2.

I installed nginx and got the default nginx page. Then I installed the various remaining php modules and put the php pool configuration file from the documentation, atom.conf, into the pool.d directory.

Now all I can get out of it is "No input file specified"

Does anyone have any idea at all what that means???

Does this
location ~* \.php$ {
    deny all;
    return 404;
  }

mean that all php scripts are blocked in usr/share/nginx/atom? That might explain things maybe.

Hi John,

Based on the other thread you've started, it sounds to me like you've tried multiple installs and keep making changes when you run into problems. At this point it becomes difficult to troubleshoot, especially remotely, as we don't know what previous actions may be affecting your current attempts. I hate to say it, but I would suggest starting fresh at this point. Our documentation, if followed closely, should work, and should be location agnostic, so as far as I am aware, it shouldn't matter if you are installing on an EC2 instance - but it will matter whether or not you use Ubuntu 14.04 as your base OS, that your PHP version is at least 5.3.10 or 5.4 for newer versions of AtoM, etc. Our developers have tested this configuration many times, and it is what we use in both development and production. If you've made changes along the way (such as attempting to use Apache for example, and then switching), it becomes more difficult for us to provide support, and moves outside the experience of our developers.

If you're trying to install AtoM 2.2, there are some known issues - workarounds are documented in this thread: https://groups.google.com/d/msg/ica-atom-users/oQGsOO4ZJLo/iFSANCseBQAJ - However, none of the issues you've reported sound related to these bugs.

We have a 2.2.1 release that includes fixes for these known issues, which is ready in our git repository, if you'd like to install from there: https://github.com/artefactual/atom/tree/stable/2.2.x

We won't be able to package the release as a downloadable tarball until the new year, but we're working on it!

Sorry to suggest going back to square one - our developers are a bit stumped as to what else to suggest.

Regards,
