Hi,
I have been using Hugin on a Mac a lot in the past, but stopped a few years ago - probably for the same issue described below.
The results from alternatives I have tried (e.g. pano stitching in Lightroom) don't come close to what I used to get from Hugin.

Now I have installed a 2023 version that should work on my M1 Max MacBook Pro (from the Mac builds of Hugin thread) and while it runs, I am unable to load TIFF files.
When I look into a folder to load files, all formats except JPG are greyed out.
I wonder what is the problem, looking around I could not find anyone reporting not being able to load TIFFs.
I just seem to be able to make panos from JPG files, that doesn't seem right.

If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated.

Details of my system:
MacBoox Pro M1 Max 32GB RAM
Sonoma 14.5

in the add file dialog there should be a choice box at the bottom of the dialog to select the file extension.
Select all images or tif files, then you should be able to select TIF files.

How could I miss it!
That fixed my problem, thank you.
