A libpano13-2.9.18_beta1 (first beta snapshot) tarball has been
uploaded to sourceforge:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/panotools/files/libpano13/
This is an interim 'beta' primarily useful for users wishing to try
Hugin 2010.5.0 development snapshots which require 2.9.18. The test suite
created as part of the 2010 Google Summer of Code will probably be merged
before the final release.
There have been some changes since 2.9.17:
* Added Thoby projection which models the Nikkor 10.5 lens.
* Minor fixes for GNU Hurd, libtool 2.4, and powerpc command-line.

Thank you!
This is another milestone toward the next release of Hugin.
If nobody adds anything to the dedication thread [0] I will suggest dedicating
it to Ptolemy [1] and Marinus of Tyre [2] for their work on mathematical
geography.
An interesting list of contributions is shaping up for the splash screen
artwork [3]. Members of Hugin-PTX will get an opportunity to vote on their
favorite entry ahead of the release and we will use the panorama selected by
popular vote.

Yes, I think it is worth doing another beta/rc for the libpng-1.5
patch. Looking at the commits, I'd want to branch at
722:a70ba2fe3c7f, not quite sure how to do this at the moment.
I originally wanted to merge the summer of code test suite, but I
can't get this to run at all so this will have to wait.

What do you suggest we do? Do you want me to branch it?
