HSFC 2nd Call for Veterans!!!

Thank you to those of you who responded to the first email! We appreciate your support of the REEL VETS program.

We are making a second request for any club members who are veterans.

The club would like to identify and recognize the Veterans within our organization and offer them an opportunity to participate in the REEL VETS program which is being held on Saturday, July 26th this year. Reel Vets is a long standing HSFC program coordinated with NDOW and the Reno Vets Center where vets are taken to Hobart Reservoir for a day of flyfishing. The participating vets are paired with an experienced fly fishing buddy for support and it would be GREAT if  those buddies are vets. Vets helping Vets!!!!

This is where our Veteran members come in. We would be incredibly honored to have you participate as a fishing buddy for this event. There are a limited number of spaces which will be filled first come, first served and there are some physical requirements that the buddies must meet:

1. You must have float tube experience (float tubes are provided)

2. Be able to assemble rods, tie leader, tippet and flies together. You are the "guide" for the day!

3. You must be physically able to tow your veteran buddy around in his/her float tube if necessary. Some vets won't have fishing and/or float tube experience and if their buddy can help them get around it will enhance the fishing experience and alleviate any potential frustration.

PLEASE NOTE: Kurt Zeilenga is not coordinating volunteers for this year's event. Please respond to this email ONLY if you are interested in helping.
