Title of Book 7: "Harry Potter and Tom Riddle"
R.A.B. is Sirius Black's brother, Regulus.
Harry Potter fights Voldemort for 20 pages with some D.A. members and
Death Eaters involved. Neville Longbottom kills him in the end by a
lucky stroke.
Ron Weasley dies battling death eaters, eager to prove himself (as
potential auror, as big man for hermione, as just as good as his older
brothers, etc).
Hermione Granger becomes distraught at the loss of her love, Ron, and
becomes an elder spinster teacher and the next head of Gryffindor
house.
Harry Potter goes on to become an auror for 10 years, hunting down the
last of the death eaters, then returns to Hogwarts as the Defense
Against the Dark Arts teacher. A post he holds for over 50 years. He
starts each year by telling the class about his "lightning bolt shaped
scar." (thus ends the book and series)
Harry Potter marries Ginny Weasley, they go on to have 8 children.
Poor girl.
Fred & George make loads of money, the Weasley's are no longer "poor",
going from rags to riches.
The Malfoy's lose all their money, go from riches to rags.
Professor Snape faked Dumbledore's death with a set of potions
mentioned in the first book. Bewitching the senses, entrancing the
mind, feigning death...
Dumbledore returns, does lots of mysterious stuff in the background,
retires at the end to give chocolate cards interviews.
Lupin and Tonks get married. Then he kills her while transformed
because her potion isn't as good as Snape's was.
Professor Snape dated Harry's mother before James Potter did. He loved
her. He didn't want to see her hurt. That's Dumbledore's proof.
Hagrid stays on, gets Grawp trained up as his assistant, and lives to a
ripe old age. He never owns another dragon, missing Norbert terribly.
Professor Trelawney gives a true prediction about Harry's children
having to fight "the next great evil" ~ which is never explored further
in the books. (Professor Snape's admonition about the dark arts being
"eternal, ever changing" is thus proven true.)
Horcrux's? Hmmm... the Sorting Hat, Gryffindor's sword, Nagini, ...
too many possibilities. They will prove difficult to find, and
unsettling to read about how they were created. The depths of
Voldemort's evil are shown in this way. Necessary to prove he is
beyond redemption. Harry's first choice is not to kill Voldemort, but
to make him "forgotten" by everyone, which is worse than death to
Voldemort. Harry can't figure out how to do this, so ends up resigned
to just killing him. Hermione wants to create a new time turner to put
him back to an infant, and to raise him properly, but also proves
unequal to that task.
Until the last 2-3 chapters, it will appear that Voldemort is winning
and cannot lose. Starting with the disruption of Bill and Fleur's
wedding ceremony.
Percy Weasley dies. He comes back over to the side of the angels in
the end, reconciles with his parents, and dies in the battle with the
death eaters.
The Weasley's suffer great losses in the war, more than most. Molly
and Arthur are grief stricken, despite their newfound wealth. They
always thought they were wealthy before, with lots of family and good
health.
