Hello,

I downloaded the CPRS demo client from http://www.ehealth.va.gov/CPRS_Demo.asp and changed the icon properties target to "C:\Program Files (x86)\VistA\CPRS\CPRSChart.exe" CCOW=disable s=dicom.imaging.vacloud.us p=80 but receive the error WSAECONNREFUSED when I try to start the CPRS demo client.

All firewalls (Windows, BitDefender, and router) are turned off for testing and I am able to ping dicom.imaging.vacloud.us. However, http://www.checkmyports.net/ shows port 80 is not open (see image below), which I assume is why my connections request was refused.

Any suggestions or tips on how to proceed?  I'm at a loss.

Thanks.

Mike

Are you running your own server?  Or is this a cloud server?  Is this cache'?  GTM on linux?  Also, I haven't see port 80 used for CPRS before.  Is that what your instructions told you to do?

See this link and all will be revealed! The network guys have not fixed this
in about 2 years so between Vitalia Devlin and me, we got this together so
people could try it out.

Get Re-pointing_the_VA_CPRS_Demo_ShortcutVer2_scrubbed.doc

Be sure to check out CPRS Tab by Tab, class 999 on http://MyVeHUCampus.com to
see how to use CPRS.

Hello Kevin,

I am using the CPRMS demo client for Windows (I use Win7 pro) available for download from http://www.ehealth.va.gov/CPRS_Demo.asp. Here is a description "CPRS Client executable, which connects to a VistA® System on the Internet. The user will automatically be logged on to the system randomly as one of 10 doctors. Select a patient and then explore VA's Computerized Patient Record System. The electronic signature code for each user is DOCTOR1." There is no need to install any of the packages you mentioned, just download the client, install it, and start using a demo version of CPRS.

Seems easy enough.

My first problem with the CPRS demo after installation was a WSAETIMEDOUT error on startup.  This was fixed following the instructions here: https://groups.google.com/d/msg/hardhats/r1WBzoXWEyE/ZxddkSX4K-UJ.  That document pointed to by that post also specfied use of port 80 (p=80), parm.

The next problem was the WSAECONNREFUSED on startup, which I understand is most likely caused by a Firewall restriction, or if the receiving host (dicom.imaging.vacloud.us in this case) is not listening on the expected port (80 in this case).  I disabled all firewall restrictions as mentioned in my previous post and can successfuly ping dicom.imaging.vacloud.us but the port test failed as shown in the error message in my orginal post.

Oddly enough, I accidently tested port 80 for host dicom.imagling.vacloud.us (note the typo) and it worked.  Don't know what to make of that.

Hopefully this gives you a better idea of my environment but let me know if you have other questions.

Thanks.

Mike

The demo appears to be down so I will ask on Monday if there is any hope of
revival. The CPRS Demo that is online is probably the same one that is here:

http://foia-vista.osehra.org/DBA_VistA_FOIA_System_Files/ cprsdemoCache.zip

and getting that going would probably be similar to following these
instructions.
