1) For the syntax HARBOUR you can add it by selecting the menu item VIEW-LEXER. Unfortunately you do not find in the installed version, but you can add it; just copy the files HARBOUR.ACP, which I enclose, within the folder SYNWRYTE / HL.
AFAIR the correct folder to store the acp file is Synwrite/Data/autocomplete.

I used Brief way back in the day but moved to Multi Edit back in the 90's. It support over 50 languages include xBase. It has all of the Brief features including keyboard layout if you want. Includes all of the column manipulation features including upper/lower/first cap text, commenting, etc.
It comes with an add on called Evolve that includes xBase specific tools like DBF documenting, re-indent code, list constants (even from the #include), etc.
It has one of the best source code file compare tools I have found.

Hi! Can you please explain how to recompile HbIDE (people saying I have to do it). Also - why debugger doesnt work? Ii opens many boxes but I cannot step through the code. Thanks
You need not to compile HbIDE at all if you are using the same distro.
