Hi Chris,

I'd like to join in to translate Growl 2 in Dutch. I'm a (Cocoa) developer myself, so it is no problem if it gets a little technical.
When you need more info or just to say hello, let me now.

Regards,

Hi ArnoldT,

I'm currently coordinator (Transifex term) and sole member for Dutch. This would be my very first project (I do many) where I would have a team member. Welcome.

Once Chris has got you set up, please ping me on my address below my name so we can introduce ourselves and figure out what our cooperation would look like.

Regards

Alexander

Indeed. In my work for Skype they periodically hire a translation agency for review. We don't always agree but they usually also have a number of useful suggestions. I'm always happy with them and I'm looking forward to working together with ArnoldT as well.

I can translate into Japanese. However, I'm still a programming novice—could you clear up what sorts of requirements there are for translating? Is it just editing .plist files? I can do that. If it gets into Obj-C, I'd be out of my comfort zone but will try :)

Ya, it's actually pretty straight forward. We have a project on transifex, and that has all the localizable strings and text for the app store listing. There's around 30 files there, some large and some very small. You can translate those with a tool like iLocalize, or just on the website.

There are a set of rtf files that need to be translated. We'll convert these to html at some point so that they can also be on transifex.

We have a private localization list that is used to discuss the particulars about parts of the different apps, and for us to post localization builds for testing languages.

We have tried to make it as straight forward as possible, while also allowing for things like teams of translators where possible. Transifex is something we thought about trying for 1.3, and it has *really* worked out for us. Last night we processed in 71 new and updated language files in a very short amount of time, which is pretty astounding compared to the old method of managing separate nibs per language, for each nib.

Anyhow, if you're interested, just email me and I'll get your accounts set up. ch...@growl.info

Hi Chris,

I'm sorry for the delay in sending you this mail. I'd like to translate Growl 2 in Dutch. I noticed that there
is one other person for this translation, so it shouldn't be a problem at all.

Hope to hear from you soon. Have a nice weekend!

Hi Chris!
I'd like to help you to translate Growl in Italian.
I'm not a developer, but I'd be very pleased to join in the translation.

Let me know!

Best regards,
