Dear Regional Growth & Investment Stakeholders –
I hope this message finds you all well.
This month marks the end of last year’s Community Growth Grant programming period, and should provide very interesting updates from grant recipient communities, given their reporting periods are underway. As you will see in the attached packet, there is also the announcement of this year’s New Designs for Growth Grant Program, very similar to last year’s grant program, with some changes. This draft RFP is not for distribution, as it is still in its draft mode.
Also building momentum is our Placemaking Sub-committee(s). This group is starting to meet and define what it’s objectives and goals are. It is looking like there will be two groups associated with placemaking: one focused on producing a placemaking service product for regional communities; and another focusing on incubating, cultivating, supporting and implementing placemaking campaigns across the region – i.e. the action end of the initiative.
We also hope to have our loan fund availability discussion as well as some insight from some of our regional communities who are working seriously to begin adopting placemaking strategies into their communities for growth and investment purposes.
This month should be an exciting and interesting meeting.
