REST API for auto assigned Google product categories

Hello,

According to the API docs for products, there is no way to get back the auto assigned google product categories through the API.

I am wondering if there are other API end points where I can fetch the auto assigned google product categories of the products.

I confirmed that your understanding is correct, the API only returns product categories if its value has been supplied by the merchant as referred to in this documentation. That said, it is not indeed possible to retrieve the googleProductCategory with the auto classified value via API.

 

There’s no current way via API to fetch or retrieve those auto-classified google product categories. However, we are aware that this functionality will be helpful in the future and we are continuously working to make this possible. Having said that, I would recommend that you keep an eye to our blog for any updates on this.
