My house ads are not running either, this new interface is a disaster, virtually none of my settings for my in house campaigns were imported from the old Admob

The new AdMob does not show house ads to users that already installed the app that the house ad is promoting. In legacy AdMob, we did not run this filter for house ads.

Try testing the ad unit in a sample app on a device that doesn't already have your app installed.

Thanks,
Eric

Still doesn't work same thing happens. Please look into my earlier post. These house ads are being marked as under-review and render 0 impressions. They are never running thats the issue. If we need to schedule something over skype to where i can demonstrate the issue im having i will. And at least 7 of my friends who also use admob are having the same issue currently no one i know has been able to run house ads on the system.

I think setting up a call would be beneficial.

Thanks.

I've setup house ads on all my apps and not a single one has served an impression. House ads are broken and I wish someone would believe us. I keep hearing from everyone that they are fine or I have them disabled or yada yada but I've been using the new admob
for over a month now and have tried everything to get them to work. I've been in constant contact with my assigned admob rep, google engineers, adsense support etc and nothing ever comes from it. I personally know 4 admob publishers and none of them are able to serve any house ads. I'm not trying to bash anyone I would just like to see it fixed rather then keep getting told it works I'm just doing it wrong.

Eric - if you've got House Ads working, do you have any money in your Billing account?  i.e. are you paying for ads as well as using House Ads.  I'm thinking maybe there is a bug in the new AdMob where House Ads will only show when money is placed in the Billing Account.

I believe I have house ads set up correctly, but I'm not getting any house ad displays at all (not just people who have the app installed).

I don't have any money in my billing account, but I do have billing set up to get rid of all the UI complaints, and it is set to automatic payments. I don't think that should be a requirement for house ads though.

House Ads still not working for me.

I think the new UI is way better than the old. All campaigns, banner etc. are set up correctly. I also set 0.01 for admob and 1.00 for my house ads but they are still not showing.

And yes, I have billing set up and also have funds, even if it's not required.

I had the app installed, but then removed it from the device. Can AdMob still detect it and not show any ads?

Please fix, House Ads are very important part of AdMob for many developers.

Thanks Eric, I am in the same boat as delany, I have my house ads setup properly, I set the ecpm, but I am getting 0 impressions, I was previously getting over 25,000 impressions per day with this same ad on the old Admob. There is definitely a bug in the new system with House Ads, they are not working.

Hi all,

It happend the same to me Amit, I've resolved it doing next steps:
- Remove all hose ads from old admob,
- Update publisher-id in your app.
- Create new house ads in new admob.

With this steps I could publish new WEB house ads but not application house ads.
Best!

Hi,

I've followed these steps:
- remove house ad in old admob
- create new inhouse ad (for a Website) in new admob

I can't update the app id. I've also set the allocation.

No inhouse ads are shown on different devices :(

+AdMob Please correct this fatal error!

Thanks very much.

My House Ads' statuses are "Eligible", not enabled - I guess that's why I'm not getting house ads. I emailed google, and was told there are some technical difficulties, and would get resolved as soon as possible. I guess we just have to sit tight and wait.

Thanks,

No, they still haven't. I was contemplating between Admob mediation and Flurry mediation and decided to go with Admob mediation. Now I'm paying for that by just twiddling my thumbs and waiting and hoping it will get resolved soon. :-(

Did you make sure to Enable your ad?  I know it probably sounds like you've already done this, but you'll want to double check.  In the mediation section, you set your eCPM, and you'll want to take one other step which isn't explained anywhere (from what I could see).  Check the box by your ad, and hit the "Edit" button that appears above the table.  You need to select "Enable" from that menu to get it going.  I struggled with this for quite a while before stumbling across that option.  The Ad showed Enabled in other places, but it wasn't until I clicked there that it started up.

Hi Spencer,

Thanks for your reply. Yes, my ads are Enabled. The Campaigns themselves went from Enabled to "Eligible" after upgrade to the new admob, and I had emailed Google regarding reviewing it and "Enabling" the campaigns again. It has been an insanely long period of time, and it is still sitting as "Eligible", so ZERO impressions until that gets resolved - who knows when, if at all!

I've reported your issue and it turns out to be a bug that is affecting some accounts that had previously used AdWords. Your account got updated and you should be able to get house ads now. I was just able to get one running against your account.

Cheers,

My app stopped displaying ads yesterday as well. I am now following the instructions from above but my question is: How do you set the # of impressions to be displayed for a house add and where is the option to Fully Allocate in this new Admob interface?? I can't find it anywhere. Google really needs to address this issue. I wish I didn't upgrade to the new interface. Thank you.

Eric Leichtenschlag

@Ivan, which sdk version is your app using that is seeing 0 house ad impressions.

@David, In the new interface, house ads behave as their own "mediation network" in your mediation flow. The Fully Allocate option is equivalent to making your house ad have the highest eCPM in your mediation flow. If you give it the same eCPM value as another network, they should split requests evenly. We're still working on the impression goal feature for the new UI.

Thanks,
Eric

@bytrastudio, I got your house ad. Remember you need to be running a v6.0.0 or higher SDK and also not have the app you're trying to advertise already installed.

@Mike, I don't see the house ads eCPM above AdMob, I see two lower and one the same. If you look at your Ad Mediation report and break down by Mediation Ad Source, you'll see that you just aren't sending requests to house ads. Either set eCPM for house ads higher, or try a house ad campaign with an impression goal.

@Ivan, I'm seeing a similar issue, requests just aren't being sent to your house ads campaigns, so it looks like eCPM setting issue or targeting the house ad. You may also consider a house ad campaign with an impression goal.

Thanks,
Eric

@Eric, I see requests, but no impressions, see screenshot for the last week stats: Screenshot. I would expect House Ads should having always a 100% fill rate, but I'm getting almost 0%. It worked correctly before the AdMob upgrade with the same eCPM setup. What has to do the impression goal with request arriving? Requests are being sent, so they should arrive despite of the goal or ecpm...

Hi Ivan,

I'm seeing the issue in your account now. Could you create a test ad unit and create a campaign targeted to all devices and target it to an ad unit that serves first? I can then run a request against your ad unit and send it to the backend team to figure out why it's not returning.

I don't think anything changed. Those 2 impressions were both my tests, and the 6 requests were probably my tests before the campaign propagated across Google servers.

Can you run a sample app with that ad unit and get the test ad yourself? If not, we can try to figure out why your environment is different, and maybe that's why your house ads aren't working. If you do get this house ad from the test campaign but the others still aren't returning anything, we're kind of back to square one.

Ivan,

I'm thinking it's an environment issue then. I attached a sample app that uses your ad unit to get your house ad, and I'm seeing it on my device. Please run it on your device and see if you get it too.

Note that you won't see the house ad if you already have the app installed that you're advertising. Note that you also need to be on an SDK > 6.0, but this sample uses v6.4.1 and you mentioned you were already on v6.4.1 anyways.

Thanks,

I'm trying to understand which kind of environment issue could it be, the screenshot I posted was about real numbers among all the user devices, it was not on testing purposes.

Yes I'm using the 6.4.1, the proof is that House Ads were displayed in the legacy AdMob, I can show you the old numbers if you want.

Couldn't be that your environment is the different one?

Thanks and regards,
Ivan

Your house ad campaign is targeted to English only, but your language is Spanish. So your house ad isn't being targeted to you.

Eric,

that's correct, my apologizes. I've changed the device language to English and now they're appearing on the recently test ad unit. I don't know how it was set to English, I don't remember doing it...

However, I've checked the live campaigns, and there are no target restrictions and they're receiving requests but without impressions. Is there anything I can do to make the campaigns for live apps work? should I create new campaigns for these apps? did you do something special to the Test ad unit to work the first time?

Thanks and regards,

I didn't do anything special to the ad unit. I don't know why the live apps aren't serving. Perhaps you could try recreating the campaign, though I'm not aware anything has changed.

Your campaigns show eligible, but they look paused. Make sure your campaigns are running, and that the ad unit they're targeted to has that house ad campaign enabled in your mediation settings.

I am about to get mad.
I have some house ads campaigns that were showing ok.
After switching to the new Admob, all seemed to be ok. Some were legacy campaigns some are new ones.
But after some days, it is only showing admob network ads.
I think all settings are ok: all language, all countries, all devices/os/gender/age etc,
but 4,000 - 6,000  requests per day and 0 (null, nada, rien) impressions.

What am I doing wrong and/or is anything else I can do?

Angel.

Some more info about this behaviour:
- Last version of SDK (or before the last one)
- Some campaigns are old (legacy from Admob v1), some are new
- Campaigns and ad units are enabled
- Apps for Android and iOS, both show no house ads
AdMob eCPM Floor Beta eCPM set to $10, then house ads set to $1, then Admob network set to $0.01... no house das
- Removed AdMob eCPM Floor Beta, House ads eCPM set to $10, then Admob network set to $0.01... no house ads
- App campaigns and web campaigns... no house ads

Thomas,

I can get your house ad from your impression goal campaign when trying out your ad unit, and also in reporting your "Direct Sales" numbers for your impression goal has some fill. Your non-impression goal line item isn't getting any fill because there is no underlying campaign for it (it must have been deleted). I've filed a bug against the AdMob UI team to remove those mediation line items if you delete a campaign, and also warn you that you have mediation line items targeted to a campaign before it allows you to delete it.

Thanks,
Eric

What email address is associated with your AdMob account?

There could be various reasons they aren't working, most of them are setup related. Here is a checklist to get you started:
- Are your campaigns active?
- Are your campaigns associated with your desired ad unit?
- Is the house ad line item enabled on the ad unit that your campaign is targeting?
- Is the campaign targeting your device and location?
- Are you using an SDK v6.0 or higher, or is your ad unit only composed of house ads and AdMob (no-third party) line items?

Thanks,

Hi Mellssa,

Your December House Ad campaigns don't seem to exist anymore, and your only active campaign is hyper targeted to a location, wifi only, and a limited number of devices. I'm actually not seeing any requests towards AdMob House Ads or AdMob Direct Sales (house ads is for eCPM targeted house ads, direct sales would be impression goal house ad campaigns) in your mediation report. I'm not sure if that means you simply aren't making requests, or you're getting filtered by targeting. But as a proof of concept, I'd advise you to create an eCPM house ad campaign targeted to a non-production ad unit, and don't put any targeting limitations, and see if you can get the house ad back.

Thanks,
Eric

Hi Gadi,

Everything looks set up correctly from AdMob side. It looks like you have an AdWords account under the same email, and a warning about billing information on the account. It's possible that's related to no-fill, as the house ad campaign does create an underlying AdWords campaign.

Thanks,
Eric

I've seen house ads show up on the simulator. It shouldn't take too long to show up - I generally wait 15 minutes or so to let the front-end changes propagate to all servers.

For AdMob house ads you don't need to fund your account. For paid campaigns you would. That said, there may be an edge case where if you previously had an AdWords account that complained about funding, it's possible that is still the blocker for the house ad campaign. The house ads alone shouldn't have triggered that behavior though.

Thanks,
Eric

Hi Eric,

thank you. I'll try to run a House Ad and if it won't work, I'll just fund the AdWords account with a minimal sum (I've never used AdWords, tho - I'm registered there for keyword research, but I plan to use AdWords in near future).

Henrik

Hello Heidi,

Your house ads are set up as campaigns within AdWords. Not sure if you've previously had an account there, but either way there is a message about lack of billing info. Looks like you'll have to log into adwords and address any warnings.

From the AdMob side, your campaign setup looks good.

Thanks,
Eric

Hi Bob,

Generally I wait 15-30 minutes after making UI changes to check to see that they've propagated across all servers. In your case, I see a couple of reasons why your house ads may not serve:

1. You're house ad is targeted to your "BullyProofAssistantProf" ad unit which is part of your "pro" app. If this ad unit is being used in your pro app (i.e. advertising itself) it won't work. If you're using this ad unit in your lite app, it could still work - however it is unorthodox to put an ad unit in app A that is set up for app B in the front-end. It looks like the BullyProofAssistantProf ad unit should really be under the other app.
2. Assuming the above isn't an issue, your campaign is for 2000 impressions over 2 months. That's about 40 impressions a day. That may be what you want, though it could be difficult to see your own house ad during testing since it won't return every time. I guess you can wait and see what the numbers look like.

Thanks,
Eric

Hi Bob,

The general flow is to set up a campaign promoting the paid app (which you have done), but target it to an ad unit that you're using in your free app. From the Promote tab, you can click into your desired campaign and to to the Ad units tab and select additional ad units to target the campaign against. If it's an eCPM targeted campaign and not an impression goal one, then you'll also need to go back into that ad unit's mediation settings and enable the house ad.

Right now, the only ad unit your app is using doesn't have house ads targeted to it.

You can read up more about house ad campaigns here.

Thanks,
Eric
