Hi Team,

When the banner ad is clicked, it jumps out of the application and opens the related link in Safari (iOS) and Chrome (Android). I want to change this behaviour. So, when a user clicks on the banner the link should open inside the application in a webview. I am not able to find any delegate method or property by which I can get the link or the method which gets triggered.

it possible to open ads in app when clicked without open the browser ? both for iOS and Android.

Regards,

Shafqat

Hi Team,

Thank you for your reply

I have one more query/question related to Interactive Media Ads (IMA) SDKs. We are using this SDK for both iOS and Android.

When user clicked on “Learn More”, we want to open ads url link in in-App browser. It’s is working fine for us for iOS  as there is a property in SDK that allow us to open ads in in-app browser here is the code mentioned below

        let adsRenderingSettings = IMAAdsRenderingSettings()
        adsRenderingSettings.linkOpenerDelegate = self
        adsRenderingSettings.linkOpenerPresentingController = self
        adsRenderingSettings.openWebLinksExternally = false

It’s working fine for iOS but we didn’t found any property in Android IMA SDK that allow us to open url link in in-app browser.

In case of Android when user clicked on “Learn More” button, currently it’s open the url link in external browser.

My question in is there is an any way in the Android SDK to open url link in in-app browser? like iOS SDK is doing.

SDKs we are using

GoogleAds-IMA-iOS-SDK
com.google.android.exoplayer2.ext.ima

Hello Shafqat,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

With regards to your concern, based on our documents (https://developers.google.com/admob), it is not possible to not redirect an ad to a browser when clicked as this almost would defeat the purpose of displaying an ad in your app. This is a built in function of the SDK that cannot be modified. For the other behavior you mentioned regarding redirecting a banner ad to a WebView, I'm afraid that it is also not possible due to the same reason as previously stated.

Feel free to reach back to us if you have any further concerns or inquiries.

Hello Shafqat,

With regards to your recent inquiry, I'm afraid you will have to raise this instead to the IMA SDK forums https://groups.google.com/g/ima-sdk as this is no longer within our scope.
