I have my workouts automatically syncing from Garmin Connect to Strava and then to Golden Cheetah which I find really convenient.

From time to time have my Garmin die and I use my phone to collect data, but in Golden  Cheetah I'd prefer to just create a manual file that will include ave power, BikeStress etc... that the phone collected file does not have... and this works fine, but every subsequent sync brings in the Stava file, which then doubles my hours and distance 😏

Is there any way to prevent that specific file syncing to Golden Cheetah?

No, but for this particular case, you could override the metrics you like for the synced activity in Details (or Data) > Metric tab instead of creating  a duplicated manual activity and to have the best of both worlds (originally recorded data plus your estimations).

Thanks... that's a pretty good solution and then will get map of activity too 👍🏾

Not sure if I found a bug, but I enter the TSS, but after I press Save it resets back to zero and not added to weekly totals or PMC.. all the other metric Save and added and added to totals just fine though 😏

TSS was deprecated after TP authorization to use the trademarked name was revoked, the metric was renamed as BikeStress and TSS is a compatibility metric taking BikeStress values but with several restrictions. If you Override BikeStress instead of TSS it should work.

Thought that was weird that is said TSS.. thought maybe string was just not changed yet... but I don't seem to have an option to set "BikeStress"... can these metric overrides be changed somewhere else i.e. I can add BikeStress to this tab and remove TSS? I don't know how/where to do that.

For new users it happens automatically, existing users need to rename it, see https://github.com/GoldenCheetah/GoldenCheetah/wiki/UG_Preferences_Data-Fields#fields

BTW, even when the alternative is better IMHO, the first part is wrong.

You can avoid the duplication provided the manual activity you create has exactly the same date and time.

Awesome... that worked!

Thanks so much for all the help!

I"ll try the exact date and time thing too when I get a chance!

Exact time trick worked as well... just tested!

Thanks again!

HI Ale,

Can you take another look at PR  #3770, as this would have provided the ability to tag an import file for exclusion, and the list of files excluded is held in the file in  /imports .

Regards,
Paul

No Paul, I have no intention to do that, mostly for the reasons in the last paragraph of https://groups.google.com/g/golden-cheetah-developers/c/cOvzlywd4OA
