My system is a MAC-OS in german.

There are fields where the font is black instead of white, so I can't see the text.

The background doesn't seem to fit here :

I've also changed the designs there. It would be nice, if I could see which design is currently active :

I also looked at the colors, but couldn't find anything suitable. I found two more places that haven't been translated into German :

Hi, v3.7 SP1 is freeze now and cosmetic issues will not be fixed on it (TBH barring a catastrophic failure no issue will be backported), so you will have to try other color combination that better suit your needs. we are working on v3.8 so if you want to collaborate with testing feedback is welcome in https://groups.google.com/g/golden-cheetah-users/c/XRHMoM9oon8

Regrettably themes are used only to set some default individual colors when you click apply, we don't track which was used and how the colors change afterwards.

We have an open thread for translations if you want to collaborate: https://groups.google.com/g/golden-cheetah-users/c/KVwt8LDsWLY/m/VnZfu95WAwAJ

I was able to locate the problem and find a solution.

I have changed the appearance from "Dark" to "Light" :

The result is (I'll leave this setting as it is) :

Color_3_new.png

Color_4_new.png

Great! IIRC dark/light themes were intended to match the use of dark/light mode on macOS and there were issues like your report when mixed, but I am not a macOS user.

Since this topic is discussed. Filter text is a problem in Linux as well, when using dark mode. This is old problem. But i don't use filter that often, so nothing critical for me. Just wanted to let you know.
In gif i'm using GC version with python 3.11 support . But as i said, this is old problem.

Text changes color to black when you clear the filter.

Hello.

I am using Golden Cheetah on Debian 13 with KDE (detailed specs attached) with the "Breeze Dark"-System-Theme. Unfortunately I can't read the program code in the tile settings, because there is black text on black background. The colors in these dialogs don't change when I change to a different Golden Cheetah theme. The only workaround is to switch to a system-wide light theme.

Is it possible to solve this problem more conveniently?

Thank you in advance and greetings,
Bernhard

I can reproduce this on Windows too turning on Dark mode systemwide:

It looks like GoldenCheetah theme settings apply to the base UI only, Dialogs like this seems to take its color from system settings and they are not adapted for dark mode, lets create a GitHub issue for this.

After looking into this issue, here are my first drafts for DataFilter. If fine for everybody, I would like to make the syntax highlighting colors more friendly in both modes.
Where I need support is to identify all relevant corners I need to investigate. For now I have syntax highlighting for
  • DataFilter
  • Python
  • R
on my list. Eventually other areas also need adjustments. Please let me know where you miss readability.

Cheers, Joachim
