Must have a # only in the field otherwise it won't show. Also, after entering new contacts or new info for old contacts & after saving, hit the back icon> go to menu> click on refresh index . Now I don't lose new contacts or info.

I looked for the apostate thread and couldn't find it....to this note
it has been driving me crazy since I updated gesture and I think I
have figured out why some of my phone contacts don't show up.....

I use *82 preceeding alot of my phone numbers to unblock my phone
number.....it seems some/most of these don't show at all in
gesture.....please fix....can I go back to the old gesture app that
    worked perfectly?

    I noticed that non-ascii symbols like French accented letters (à â æ ç é è ê
    ô œ ï ë ù û ü ÿ), not only don't get recognized, but also prevents the word
which has these letters from being selected (it seems it's being treated as
"total" mismatch, so only other symbols which are much less similar to the
one typed get recognised) [Android 2.3.7, Gesture search 1.4.1 build
    id:108].

One sub-optimal solution may be converting the words into their ascii
representation for the gesture search, but is there any other better way?
Can we e.g. train the gesture search?

I don't know about other people but I put my phone in my right hand and
gesture with my thumb. Usually I'm calling people but the phone icon is out
of my reach. It we would be great if we could choose which side it's on.

    Thx

    Found this:

"Currently, Gesture Search only searches contacts that have a phone
number. Is this the case for those contacts that didn't show up? "

And indeed, I added the phone nr as the email field because the distinction
is not really visually clear. And indeed, once my contact had a phone nr
    the issue was solved.

    Hope this helps, Tom
