I didn't challenge the numbers just the fact that they were misleading
for the average man in the street. Arsenal won't post numbers as high
as those again because there was a lot of one time figures that were
in the makeup of the report.
I believe it was you that penned the subject line "Arsenal surpass
Manchester United" How about being a man and admitting that it was all
bullshit now? (watching out the window for flying pigs). This isn't
the first time I've made you and Ian look foolish, it's becoming a bit
of a habit to be honest and it get's boring. I'd much rather have
football discussion.

Ok, 'apologise' is a bit steep, how about admit you were wrong and I
was right about the "spin' put on the Arsenal report?

No, the reports and figures were correct, the spin is where you lost
it! No one challenged the numbers it was the spin that Arsenal put on
it that was absurd and took you in completely.

Not at any point was it suggested that Arsenal was the richest club. I
think the words were "second richest club in Europe". Don't ask me the
criteria for the statistics as I don't know. I don't like piping up in
public about the clubs financial situation.

The thing is Drivel is the one who keeps on about Arsenal's finances.
I don't recall any Arsenal fans crossposting on this subject. It is
all by the hand of Drivel and maybe his foil Le Clue.

Of course I made the original post. It's there in plain daylight.

It would be stupid and incredibly imbecilic to suggest otherwise for
something that can be publically verified like that wouldn't it?

Saying "I didn't post it" a hundred times wouldn't make it so.

To be fair, this whole thing is a comeback wrt this thread

http://groups.google.com/group/uk.sport.football.clubs.liverpool/browse_thread/thread/67845ea6c928a3c6/534b86347a185f2e?#534b86347a185f2e

Started by Google Beta User, a mischevous Koppite, but then numerous Arsenal
and United posters joined in the free for all. A number of the Arsenal
posters did continue the cross posting, but heck, that's usenet!

See this branch of the thread
http://groups.google.co.uk/group/uk.sport.football.clubs.liverpool/browse_thread/thread/67845ea6c928a3c6/e4e35f14d4746e70?hl=en&lnk=st&q=%22arsenal+surpass%22#e4e35f14d4746e70

It all got quite messy and unfocussed, and not at all suprising that it came
back here when the latest United figures have been announced.

Dont know what all the fuss is about tbh

I'll wait until Thursday evening when the actual results are announced.

At the time of Arsenals's announcement, we were indeed the richest club in
England by all financial measures. Our turnover of Ł200m, eclipsing Man Utds
previous figure of Ł168m.

I will be particularly interested in seeing how much of Man Utd's operating
profit is turned into pre-tax profit...

No, there weren't. Of Ł200.8m turnover, Ł177.0m was from ordinary football
activities. If you want to talk about one-off items, wait until next year
when we begin to recognise a huge chunk of the Ł300m we will be generating
from property development of Highbury and surrounding areas over the next
three years...

How can facts be misleading?

You fucking little hypocrite. You have abused an innocent party (his wife)
on numerous occasions in order to get at him. If you want to preach about
control, start with yourself.

Until then, either shut up or apologise.

You say you are a "big man". Prove it.
