Made with round tube set, super compact more than likely for disc brake,Ā Ā
That's only .5 # more than a Crux 5 DSW framset.

My last gravel frame made, a few yrs back, semi compact, on the size L side, came in at 1.84 kg
using pretty chunky drop outs with built in flat mount and chain stays.
My first ,sizeĀ  Med (56),horiz. top tube, road frame, fillet brazed , at 1.520 kg,Ā  using mostly 7.4.7 tubing.
so I'm thinking it is possible.

Has anyone attempted it?

For a light and very gentle rider, .7-.4-.7 tubing would be OK.Ā  I use it on young children's bikes regularly.Ā  For the aforementioned light and gentle adult, maybe go up to .8-.5-.8 on the downtube.Ā  Don't try to save weight on the chainstays.Ā  A good place to save weight is on the dropouts - big, clunky sliders and such.Ā  My suggestion is to build for the rider and her ride, not for some number.

I built one out of 631 that was about that weight. Nothing mtb duty, all road spec, tig welded, ISO mount brake.

It all depends on how long you want it to last. Ā

If it doesn't ride well it could last a long time at the back in the shed
