What do you guys use to clamp tubes to your welding table?

I use Welder’s vice grip pliers ... but the flat surface on the tube slips easily.

Anybody have a better tool?

Anybody have a source for vice grips with Jaws that have v-notches both horizontally and vertically?

Maybe weld a piece of right-angle stock onto the jaw of your vice-grip
? ;-}

Clamping bike tubing usually distorts it in a bad way.  When I have to do something like what you asked about I like to use the paragon tubing blocks to getr a nice firm but round grab on the tubing then use whatever clamps to hold them to something flat (like your table).
The blocks are an incredible deal for what they are. And Mark finally started making the 25.4 blocks out of the same stock as the bigger sizes so they are the basis for a really low tech jig now.

Hahn

I need clamps for rack tubing and will probably make some jaws (for my vice grip c-clamps) with U-shaped cutouts to minimize distortion and minimize the chance that they will wiggle loose  (half-round rounds wiggle loose).

Amir-
Are you using metric or imperial tubing in Israel? If you are using imperial I can send you some of the tubing blocks I make for rack building:

I braze instead of weld, but I use sacrificial wooden clamps held in place by spring clamps.   I use pine & similar soft wood so the tubing pushes into the wood and stays put.
