The following is probably only of interest to anyone who uses a Miller Maxstar or Dynasty inverter TIG machine.

The shop in which I teach has a Dynasty 200 that I've been practicing with lately in preparation for an upcoming aluminum welding job.  The Dynasty has a ton of options to help dial the machine in, but these features aren't very clearly explained in the owners' manual.  So I put together a cheat sheet compiled from several Miller publications.
I've got it up on Google Docs at

Comments are welcome as usual.

Thanks Ethan. I have run more or less the same settings for the last 4 years. It works fine for me - don't know why. This info will shed some light on what I'm doing and what could be better.

Ethan,

Higher pulse rates increase puddle agitation and release trapped gases.   You have that lower pulse rates do….Slight typo.

I don't know of anybody welding bicycle frames at 100-500 pps. 1.2 - 8
is more like it. I never changed my pulse rate for stainless vs
chromoly but would drop it around 50% for aluminum. I've read the
Miller documentation and seems they advocate really fast pulser rates
which I never found useful for thinwall tubing.
