Clamping ideas needed for bending fixture

The tube clamp, on a tube bending jig that I built, is not holding the tube in place during a bend ... the tube slips (I'm bending very thick walled 8mm diameter carbon steel tubing).

My current clamp has a 5" long fixed aluminum plate with a u-shaped slot on one side, and matching slotted plate on the free side. The plates are held together by a toggle clamp.

When I add two twist clamps there's no slippage. But it slows down the operation.

Any ideas how to improve the grip ?

You want stiffness. Most of my benders use a U shaped bracket with a m8
to m12 bolt to hold the top shoe. On later versions the bracket comes
off when the bolt is loose, for ease of loading

They do sell heavy-duty toggle clamps, but I assume they are expensive.  My first idea was to suggest you use 2 camps.  Also, a push-pull style would probably be less compliant.
