Since I  haven't seen much activity in this  forum I  thought I  would kickstart it!
Finished my frame last week and sandblasted it the other day. It now has 2 coats of epoxy primer sprayed on. The base coat was purchased the other day. So the plan is Tuesday to spray the base coat and clear coat!

That's a nice setup, Norton.  I still paint outdoors, mainly because of my lungs, but also because the sun breaks down VOC pretty fast.  The downside is bright yellow REALLY attracts bugs and you have to repair some basecoat LZs before you can shoot clear, then more LZs.

I recently thought I would try TAMCO's premium EURO clear.  I have been using PPG top of the line, but it is well over $100 a quart, plus hardener.  I ordered a 1-litre setup from Tamco's website.  It is kind of goosey - it includes a Shopify POS engine,  It took me several tries before my order went through, but when it came I got four liters of clear, plus enough hardener for all of it, and a liter of thinner!   I contacted them and said I would send back the excess but they said it wasn't worth the shipping costs and hassle. So I have a lifetime supply of clearcoat, for $79 plus shipping.

Is it any good? It IS!  Lay down a light coat all 'round, give it an hour, then shoot a thicker coat.  It stays where you shoot it, doesn't run and sets up to a perfect, show-quality gloss.  Seems durable too.  Tamco sells basecoats too, but they are expensive and you can buy 4 OZ or 1 liter, nothing the right size for a 'builder.

Talkin paint here!
