or go to chrome and try to readd /re enable

Hello,

I installed ForecastFox Fix version a few years ago on a Windows 11 machine. No problem, and it works as designed.

Just tried to add ForecastFox Fix to a new Windows 11 machine running the latest Firefox browser and get this...



Anyone else getting this? Any known work-arounds?  (I will not use Chrome or Edge browsers.)

Had this situation happen earlier this week myself. Did some research and it turned out to be quite simple. Find the .xpi file from a previous Firefox installation. Mine was called forecastfox@s3_fix_version.xpi; I assume everyone else's is too. Copy the file over to the new computer. Drag and drop it into an open Firefox tab and it will install. It will default to NYC and you won't be able to change it, but do this and that should take care of it.

Additionally, to resolve this issue, try saving the settings from the forecastfox settings page and then using the generated settings file (.txt) on the forecastfox settings page of the system with the issue. This will replace NY with its location in the old forecastfox system.

mine is greyed out too

my fox and edge are fine.

not only is  forecast greyed out  but i had to find NEW  alternates   to at least 7-10  add ons that broke.

like weather, clocks, text to speech , clocks  and youtube players.

there are some good replacements  for forcast to try

there are 2 choices

1 go w a different  weather add on that supports  M3

2 contact the developer AGAIN

3  use the EDGE / Firefox  version they still work fine

As time goes on, it is becoming less and less likely that Oleksandr (if he is even still alive) is going to update ForecastFox Fix version so that it works again for the various browsers, I've been trying out a number of other weather extensions and add-ons. Most are cumbersome and not at all as nice as ForecastFox.

I did find one that I like, though. It is called Weather Extension. You can check it out at weatherextension.com. It has a lot of the same features as ForecastFox, and offers a free version, along with a lifetime subscription to the PRO version for a one-time payment of $9.99. Works with Chrome, Firefox, Opera, and Edge browsers.

The author, Tim, seems responsive to support questions.

I played with it for a week or so, and liked it enough to pay the one-time $9.99 for the PRO version that unlocks a lot of nice additional features.

Installed it. It's nothing more than ForecastFox rebranded. The options page brings up the same damn page! And mine, at least, still works on Firefox.
