About The Austin Run America Run Half Marathon Series

The Austin Run America Run will be a very unique race format that will encompass some of the most beautiful areas surrounding rural Austin, including the west hills, a run along Lake Austin and much more. The race will start and finish at The Triangle at 45th and Guadalupe, with a post race party in the Triangle. We will provide prize money for individual & team winners in each format (see below) as well as incredible prizes to each of our age groups. All Half Marathon competitors will receive a custom finisher's medal at the end of the race for their achievement.

Through each of our inaugural Run America Run Half Marathon events, we will encompass several unique aspects that will differentiate ourselves from any other running event in America today. We will first look to focus on the community and build around alignments with non-profits in each of the regions, as well as create an environment for all runners, walkers, and people that enjoy or want to achieve a healthy lifestyle. We bring incredible production value to the participants of Run America Run via a safe, fun, entertaining, high profile event with all the bells and whistles a National event series should include.

Included with your entry in the race is a post race party and much more:
- Post race feast includes bagels and cream cheese, sandwiches, pizza, burritos, fresh organic fruit, chips and salsa, and great beer from a local brewery,
- Certificate of completion which will be mailed to you
- Finisher Medals for all Half Marathon participants
- New Balance Run Austin Run tech tee shirt
- Great live music
- Post race massages

Thanks Diane:

I am at a cross roads.  I am really enjoying our longer runs, however am deeply torn as to which run I am actually ready for.  I don't know if I should do the 10k or the 1/2.  Where should I be at this point in training?  I am putting this out there to our running group - to see what everyone's thoughts are.

All of my best,
Susanna

Are we registered for this race already with Fit 4 Austin or do we need to register?

Thx!

Thanks for that, Diane:

I have a question.  I am completely torn as to what I should run - the 10K or the 1/2.  Where should I be at this point in our training?  I am really enjoying our longer runs on Saturday, however don't know if I am completely ready to tackle the 13.1 miles.

I am putting this out there to see what kind of advice our peeps can give.

All of my best,
Susanna

Susanna, based on your training schedule I would register for 10K for this race.  And I can make sure you are ready for a half Marathon in the next couple months.  It's not that you couldn't do it, it's that we want you stay with progression to insure you can continue to run and it's not a one-time thing if you push too fast.

Hope that helps!

no, we all need to register individually.  We are all automatically registered with the trail foundation only.
