Error in frptExmenditurePerson Error #94, Invalid use of Null

im trying to do a person expenditures vs. Allocation report.  all 4 sort orders cause the error

Error happens after the dialog box says "please wait.../person expenditure allocation report/ 645 Persons Selected/Calculating Allocation start/end dates"

anyone got an idea of what im doing wrong?
