Extra RPM Sensor on Slash 4x4 Ultimate

Hi,

It seems the Slash 4x4 Ultimate has an extra wire near the motor that the manual labels the "RPM Sensor Wire". This wire does not appear to exist on the Slash 4x4 Platinum, which is what the f1tenth.org build instructions use. Do I need to connect this extra cable anywhere, or can I simply ignore it?

Pictured is the Platinum (top) and the Ultimate (bottom). You can see the extra black/white/red ribbon cable near the motor on the Ultimate labeled RPM sensor, and that no such cable seems to exist on the Platinum.

It's not needed, as the VESC will give you feedback on distance traveled but you can use it if you wish.
