Dear all
It is a pleasure to invite you to the next webinar in the series of Systematic & Evolutionary Botany “seminars”.
Monday, 26 April, 12:00 (CEST; please note the unusual time):
Tanja Pyhäjärvi, University of Helsinki, Finland
Adaptive and purifying selection in Pinus sylvestris - a conifer with a gigantic genome
Tanja has recently been appointed Professor in Forest Genomics and Breeding at the University of Helsinki. Her group investigates the evolutionary and population genomics of plants, with a particular focus on forest tree species. One of Tanja’s current projects studies signatures of past environmental and demographic changes in the genomes of forest trees. Tanja’s research further investigates the role of gene expression regulation and chromatin accessibility in environmental adaptation in Pinus sylvestris and Betula pendula. More about Tanja’s group and research can be found at https://www2.helsinki.fi/en/researchgroups/forest-genomics.
