Countdown to the Singularity

AI scientist Alain D Thompson has started a countdown to the Singularity, he began it in August 2017 when he thought we were 20% there, it's now at 54%. At present he thinks GPT-4 only has an IQ of 152, high but still within the human level, so he thinks Superhuman intelligence won't happen until July 2025, and the Singularity will occur 11 months later in June of 2026. If he's right then human politics sort of fades into insignificance:
