Let's hear what ASML is donating to Trump's Presidential Library?  It's obvious to me that these tariffs are (1) taxes on the U.S. middle and lower class to offset the reductions in taxes of billionaires and (2) levers of power which Trump can wield to his personal enrichment over the next few years.

ASML has a 100% monopoly on the manufacture of Extreme Ultraviolet Lithography Machines, the device most critical to the world's economy. I like to think that even Trump isn't stupid enough to discourage US semiconductor chip companies from importing that machine; but you may be right, Trump may be that stupid. Maybe ASML gave Trump a new golf course, or just flattered the hell out of him, he's a sucker for that.

Yep. And we can expect even more corruption from the Trump administration than the massive amount we've already seen. But Trump is not all bad, he gave us the Gulf Of America and he's protecting us from the most important existential threat facing the world today, transsexual men playing in women's sports.
