President Trump proposes to reduce the budget of the LIGO Gravitational Wave Observatory from $48 million down to $29 million which would save $19 million but would require a mothballing of one of LIGO's two detectors, almost certainly the one in Washington state not the one in Louisiana because Washington is a blue state but Louisiana is a red state. Meanwhile, in celebration of our dear leader's 79th birthday, on Saturday Trump has ordered that a military parade be performed that would cost $134 million.

That figure includes $16,000,000 earmarked to repair the extensive street damage caused by the 28 M1 Abrams main battle tanks that weigh 70 tons each, the 28 Bradley Fighting Vehicles that weigh 30 tons each, the 28 Stryker infantry carriers that weigh 17 tons each, the 4 self‑propelled M109 Paladin Howitzers that weigh 39 tons each, and about 90 other military vehicles that are a bit less massive. It's not exactly a dog and pony show but the parade will include a dog, two mules, 34 horses, and a wagon.

By the way, Trump's decision to activate 4000 members of the California National Guard and send 700 active duty Marines to Los Angeles will cost $134 million even though less violence was demonstrated than typically happens when a home team wins a major football or baseball game, but hey, he saved 19 million by killing LIGO.

The people's democratic Republic of America really infuses confidence in the rest of the world.

84% of Swedes asked about the US and your glorious leader expects the best and most beautiful leader in the world to screw up everything in a really big and most beautiful way.
Xi Jiping inspire about the same amount,  16% have any kind of positive expectations there and Trump's best buddy Putin don't even reach the amount of confidence that can be rounded up to a measly 1%.

Who cares what the rest of the world thinks about the great leader an company?
Well Musk are probably starting to feel the sting, sales of EV vehicles are up 26% this year, sales of tesla is this far down 56% and sinking.
Saab is working to eliminate the us built engine in Gripen and everyone who has bought F35 are starting their own production of spares and support.
Way to go.

Proud Spud?
