We are also running Everest 5.0.2.6 on a Windows Server 2003 box.  All of our client workstations run Win 7 Pro.  Our local users run the local Everest client, and our remote uses access Everest via our Terminal Server.

The problems we have:
The local users who run the local Everest client sometimes experience a loss of communication between the application server and the database server which brings down their session. We rarely experienced this problem when the workstations ran XP.  When printing home-grown Crystal reports as well as printing Everest delivered reports using the local Everest client, landscape reports will print in portrait unless manual intervention is used.  This printing problem does not occur if access to Everest is via the Terminal Server.  Otherwise, Everest is running as it always did when we used XP workstations.  We have been off Everest maintenance for over a year, and have had great results with GreeneStep support.

    Hi,

Does anyone running Everest 5.0.2.6 on Terminal server? We've been running
for awhile as an alternative to our desktops but found many reports gave
error 588 sometimes with different error messages like issue with CZdll or
    printer is busy.

I like to know If you have experience moving into Wins7 Pro. as well.
Everest indicated that Wins 7 Pro is not compatible with 5.0.2.6.

    Thanks in advance.

Been running it for over a year I think. Win7 Pro on all stations. Never 1
    problem.

Everest is not keeping up to date to save on their internal costs they have
told us... this too the reason for V6 not tested for server 2008 Small
Business platform. They only authorize it for the full blown $5,000
product. (small biz version about $600.00) Thanks Everest. Keep pushing us
    away.

    Hi Jimmy,
I just join the group! We use Everest in house (but not Everest's POS) and
we manufacture POS machines as well. Our website
http://www.posiflexusa.com/ has a lot of information on our product. If you
want I can have someone contact you.

Hi NCI,

We have quite a bit of issues but not the loss of communication so far. We don't get the print issue either.
we have issue with system error 87 about parameter is not correct after we save a Task. Another one is Access violation at address xxxxxx in modulr "Everest.exe". Read of address 000000F4. I have seen this error in WinsXP Pros as well.

Greenstep Support... they still wont help us with work they did for us and we paid thousands for it and I know they are reading these emails. But if u left Everst they are about all you have. Hope you never ask for warranty type support and its outside their scope cause the person that did the original work is no longer with them.

Hi all,

Not sure where greenstep went wrong with you Torbett,

I just want to add another perspective here.

Have used Greenstep on a bunch of projects, and their pricing, timing, follow-up, and warranty have all been better than I expected.

I agree with you Torbett they are one of the only players in town outside of Everest themselves, so they could really take advantage of that fact, and I have found that not to be the case.

In fact, they have answered many question at no cost, and have always made themselves available.

In an emergency, they will be there for all of us.

Sincerely,

Kevin

There is another company called info-sourcing that does support Everest. I’ve used them to do some DB trimming but nothing more than that so far. I do not know what their capabilities as for as mods and such, but at least it’s another option to check out.

Hey Eddie,

Thanks for dropping our name into this, we don't participate actively on this forum since few customers are opinionated, however wanted to address the question about our capabilities so it could help others.

1. We have been providing Everest support and customization's for last 8 yrs in US/India
 2. We primarily work with Ecommerce companies and cover all areas of integration SEO, SEM, Google, eBay, Amazon, 3rd party shopping carts
3. We have EDI integration with SPS Commerce and Payment gateway with Authorize.Net solution
4. We are the only ones supporting flagship product Everest Standard or Accware ohh yeah it works grt even now :)
5. We are re-sellers for Interprise Suite and have customers migrated from Everest & if your interested we cld talk further
6. We have dedicated support for Everest through our support portal www.MyErpHelp.com

I hardly get time to update my blog http://everestsoftware.blogspot.com/ and we got legal emails from Versata for having this blog since it has trademark "Everest Software" and we dealt with it too.

We don't have Everest source code and we don't need it, neither the SDK. We work directly with your database and customize/integrate.

We are blessed to have good list of customers with long term relationship and have used our services with wow factor, we would like to serve any new customers willing to work based on time and material basis.

Thank you for your time.

Glad they work for you. Not the same for everyone and I'm just trying to give a heads up to everyone. We worked with them for a long time, have given them ample opportunities to step up to the plate. They continue to refuse to do so and hope someday they will stand behind their work or give me a refund.

Only fair?

I was trying to get the advertiser to answer since their site is misleading and their statements unfounded...

I think this site needs some kind of control as to who is allowed to monitor and join it.
