Welcome to the Emerson Garden Neighborhood Association (EGNA) Google Group, an email list-serve serving Brookline's Emerson Garden community -- people living or working within a quarter-mile or so from our beloved Emerson Park.

The list-serve is intended as a place to discuss news and information of specific interest to residents, for example, news or questions about the neighborhood, residents, area businesses, schools, the park, local events, etc.

To join, please send a request to the group administrator (aebarrett@gmail.com) noting your address and relationship to the area. New members' postings are moderated for a provisional period, after which point they are unmoderated -- provided they remain a gracious part of the EGNA community!

Members can post a message by sending an email directly to egnabrookline@googlegroups.com from the account where you receive your EGNA messages (if you sign up for EGNA from your personal account, but send an email from your work address, Google Groups will reject the posting). Please sign your posts with your name and address.

You can specify the form and frequency with which to receive EGNA messages -- for example, as they come in, daily, or by viewing them on the Web site: https://groups.google.com/group/egnabrookline.

Please note that messages are archived. Before posting whether anyone has a recommendation for a good wedding photographer, for example, search the archives to see if we've discussed this topic before.

Etiquette

We ask that EGNA members abstain from posting about general political topics, and keep posts about local political topics informational in nature. You may, however, invite EGNA members to join other forums where political topics are addressed, or point them to additional resources.

When replying to a message, consider whether it's necessary to reply to the entire group (Reply All), or whether replying to the poster individually (Reply) will suffice. This can help keep down the number of messages in our Inbox.
