Increasing Life-long attendance

Noted by Colleen Dilenschneider in her research company "Know Your Own Bone," her research seems to indicate that children who visit museums with their families become museum goers as adults significantly more often than children who only attend museums as a part of school groups. Let's for the moment assume that is true. What are some of the ways in which we can increase family attendance at our museum, even to the detriment of our emphasis on school groups. I say this because there is only so much educators can do, and putting more emphasis in one area often means decreasing emphasis in another.
