I was helping a friend who was interested balancing her hay with a
custom supplement. I also told her about the AZ Regional Mix. She
opted to start with the AZ Regional Mix. I just received this
feedback from her and was wondering if anyone could provide
information as to why the "flighty" attitude would happen.

"Started the herd on the AZ Regional Mix a while back and after a few
weeks noticed a change in the attitudes of the horses. Across the
board they all became flighty. You know Woodrow, Fiona and Cash are
quiet and very easy going. Even they have been spooking at nothing
and acting a little less like them selves.

Anyway, I cut back on the vitamins and the horses are back to normal.
Before I started Fiona on the vitamins she ate dirt, dug big holes.
After starting the vitamins she stopped eating dirt. Even with being
on the reduced amount of the vitamins she still isn't eating it."

Thanks Donna

Maybe because they are feeling better and what might be perceived as "flighty" might actually be a keener awareness of their environment?
I recall when we first used AZ Regional - one of Courtney's clients told me her previously "old tired" horse was playing and running and bucking like he hadn't for years after a few weeks on the mix.
There's absolutely nothing in the mix that would act as a stimulant, but the countering of high iron with a decent level of copper and the antioxidant effect of the grapeseed, vitamin E and flax would all have an anti-inflammatory influence.

Thanks Patti, that's pretty much what I was thinking, but wanted to
confirm and get feedback straight 'from the horse's mouth' so to
speak :)
