Hello,
Im wondering if anyone has research on the benefits of supplementing horses with Noni?
I tried Noni on one horse for 8 months about 10 yrs ago, I really didnt notice any changes, and when i quit feeding it, i noticed that the flies quit tormenting that particular horse.
I would like to hear any other input. I recently asked the F1 company for analysis and literature but what i received seemed to be hype.
Thank you.

Hey Leslie ~

I can't find anything "real" about Noni.  The one clinical trial came up with no benefits http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/show/NCT00033878, I found the results somewhere else.
This site has nutritional analysis of different forms http://www.ctahr.hawaii.edu/noni/research.asp - the only outstanding thing is high potassium - as if our horses don't get enough potassium already (though people tend to not get enough).  It's going to have some phyto chemicals which will act as antioxidants, but that is true of just about any plants which is why there are so many to pick and choose from : ), along with flax, chia, vitamin C, etc.  I don't see that any specific constituent has been identified which would be specifically helpful.  Compared to Spirulina - which has an effect on leukotrienne receptors which makes it useful for allergies, and jiaogulan specifically acting as a nitric oxide donor, and flax's Omega-3 being a heavy duty antioxidant which gives it anti-inflammatory properties.

Noni sounds like another cargo cult magic potion.
