Hey folks

I had hoped to bring this up at the meeting tonight but making sure the elections were viable justifiably preempted it.

I'm forming a group for green (more specifically plant related) projects in Davis Square

Both current and upcoming projects are listed here if you'd like an idea of what the group might achieve.  If you're interested in joining any of the listed project, have some ideas of your own, or just want to follow along, please join the greening-davis mailing list.

They're key to the largest project I've organized as well as one of the upcoming projects in the works. I strongly encourage gardening obsessed people like me to join both groups (I'm a member of the SGC as well!). I don't think they're going to have the hyperlocal focus on Davis Square though so I think it's fine for both groups to coexist, as well as the growing center, Green and Open Somerville, etc.

Bumping this one more time both because I know a lot of people joined the DSNC for the election, and to call out the first project of the Greening Davis group, the new native seed library on the Somerville Community Path.

If you're familiar with the art-heavy section of the path right next to the bikeway garden, we've repurposed an unused cabinet to offer free native seeds to anyone who would like a few more blooms in their yard.

It's only partially stocked (we have a few more types coming in soon!) but feel free to check it out and send any suggestions for improvements my/our way.
