Hi all,

I'm still trying to get used to this PC3000.  I've got a WD 2TB WD20EACS-11BHUB0
It was in My Book Essential external.  I can get it to ready in DDI and PC3000 but thats about it.
I can look at some basic information.

So I power it up on the PC3000.  It goes almost immediately to Busy and then after a short wait "DRD" and "DSC" ready.  Both Greened up.
It autodetects itself when I run the utility as a WD SadleG6

I start the utility (kernal mode) and get this (note I'm not sure it is actually in Kernal Mode.  PC3000 doesn't cover this model in any documentation.

However I get no data under the HDD tab/area top left screen. (IE Model/Serial/Firmware/Capacity)

I can view ROM information;

 I'm thinking the PCB is toasted.  I've attached some pictures of the board.
before I do anything else I want to know if there is anything I can do in PC3000.  I don't have the LDR for this model and at some point PC3000 recommended it but I'm not sure it will even function enough to do that.

In the pic 001a I added some numbers in the pic.  I believe if I could get a donour PCB that I would need to solder and transfer #1.

Am I on the right track here and if so is there a way that I can determine the crucial component I need to transfer is functional?

Cheers

Hi Todd,

I am not sure regarding the PC3000 prints as i don't own one.
Regarding the donor PCB if you are going ahead, you will need to transfer the 8 legs ROM chip below #1, not #1 as it is just the RAM.

Cheers,
Oded

I would not do PCB swap right now. It is likely heads that are at
fault. If you put up your post in the pc3k section of the deepspar
forums someone will probably help you diagnose it.

Ok thanks.  I'll post it up there as well.  I posted it on Aces forum several days ago and got nothing.  I'll try deepspar now.

I get this when I try to read head maps from ROM;

Thanks.

Did a hot swap and same problems.

My next question is.. where is a good place to get reliable donors.  I haven't been able to find one that has matching credentials.  This one seems like a hard one to find.

Western Digital
Model: WD20EACS-11HBUB0
DCM: HBNNNTJMHB
Date: 12 FEB 2011
Size 2TB
PCB: 2060-771698-002
This is from a external USB My Book Essentials

Cheers
Todd
