Hi...

After assembling a CNC model 3018 of Aliexpress I planned to update my Cyclone with new parts that I have used in my CNC 3018.

I have updated my Cyclone 2.0 incorporating a 775 120w spindle equipped with an ER11 toolholder.

That part is already passed without the need to design the pieces because in Thingiverse there is someone who has done it designing a support for said engine:  https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1735876 . You have to file a bit in the area where the big gear goes but it Works.

A limit switch has also been added for the Z axis taken from here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2118834

OK ... that's done and it's working well.

The second part is to use a GRBL 0.9 or 1.1 controller used in small CNC such as CNC 3018.

Has anyone already done something like that? Have you raised it? The possibility of incorporating an offline management module is interesting ... and, as you can see in the attached photo, I have it installed in my CNC 3018.

As you can see in the link to the CNC 3018 the machine is very basic ... without limit switches or cable holder ... I have designed a series of parts to make it a little more comfortable and functional. I'll upload them to Thingiverse shortly.

I await your comments... suggestions... and contributions ...

Thanks in advance.

Greetings.

That looks good, thanks for sharing.
Both look really good.

I have seen those and wondered about their precision, have you used them already?
How precise is it doing PCB's and other work?

My Cyclone is heavily modded, with a 400W spindle, leadscrews, pillow bearings and completely different X carriage.
But I still notice play on the x carriage that causes inconsistencies in the Z movements. Mostly seem to be related to
the thin 8mm smooth rods, it would need 10 or 12mm rods to make it more sturdy.

After seeing this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVkbG-CYaAA I was looking into moving it away from rods and
into linear rails. Maybe something you can consider as a future upgrade for the 3018.

Cheers.
