Hi all,
I've made a quick-and-dirty fix of GRBL for ramps (http://sourceforge.net/projects/grblforramps14/ ) so it works with RAMPS-based Cyclones, without the need to reconnect any wires:

https://github.com/carlosgs/grblForCyclone

It is based on a year-old version of GRBL, but still it supports probing and smooth arc motions. Just the basic things that are really needed!
Thanks go to ArSi (ar...@arsi.sk) for making the original RAMPS port (the bulk of the work really) and to Nicolas Arias for recently pointing out the port.

GRBL is nicer than Marlin in many ways. Sooo robust, I'm liking it a lot.
If you give it a try, use bCNC (https://github.com/vlachoudis/bCNC ) - you won't be disappointed!

Cheers,
Carlos

awesome!.

Sadly, i have bought a cnc shield for a uno, so my cyclone will be using that board and the ramps will go to a printer!

Awesome Carlos.

I've been using GRBL with a Arduino shield and find it super easy to set and use. More than marlin to some extend.

Also having this allows to get a few softwares compatible and set for it to easy the start process for beginners.

Some if the gcode senders i tried weren't much compatible with GRBL instruction set that's why I settled with bCNC.

I've updated the GRBL code to support Sanguinololu boards as well:

Please let me know if you find any bugs!

This branch provides a pre-configured mod of the latest GRBL, proven to work in a CNCShield & Cyclone:

Happy milling!! :-)

Thanks! Sorry it came late for you Nicolas, hopefully you can use one of the mods in your heavy duty CNC mill :D

Where can I setup microstteping?

They can be configured as in normal GRBL. What do you want to change? By default it is set to 1/16 microstepping.
