Hallo Guys,

I just started to build my Cyclone. Most of the Parts are already Printed and ordered. I just have Leaded Rods,Belts, the Dremel Tool and Milling bits in the ordering pipeline.

I'm searching for good reliable Engraving, Milling and Drilling bits in Europe. I already have one Set of Engraving ans Drilling bits, but they are used alerady. Good for the first tests, but not for further use.

Do you have a source where i can buy good Bits? Then please tell me :)

I ordered a RAMPS board and are going to use bCNC and the modified GBRL Firmware and I have some more questions to usage:

- Which converting tool is the best to generate gcode? I have EAGLE-CAD and there is a gcode generator plugin . But i dont know which gcode style I have to use for generation. Maybe somebody has already experience with this combination. (http://reprap.org/wiki/PCB_Milling#PCB-GCode)

- Alternatively I would use pcb2gcode. I love the voronoi patterns it generates :) (http://reprap.org/wiki/PCB_Milling#pcb2gcode)

Maybe somebody could make a suggestion to me.

Further I am searching for settings to start with. Like Engraving depth (0,1mm ??), RPM and Moving speeds. I have already found some settings somewhere, but I've lost them in the depth of the Internet.

Thank you for your help and much more for inventing this nice tool!

Greetings

Hi and welcome to the group.

About good bits I don't know, I get mine from banggod EU warehouse, they aren't the best but thye are cheap. :)

About GCODE generation software, if you'll be using GRBL give a look to FlatCam if it's PCB's.
That is currently the only tool I use and quite like it.

For other tasks I use the CAM from Fusion360, there is some post-processors there that allow to generate GCODE compatible with GRBL.

Cheers

Ok, thank you!

I ordered some of the 20 Degree V-Bits, because they didnt have 60 Degrees. Also some Drills and titan coated endmills. I dont know if the titan coated endmills are good, but they are cheap as you said ^^
Also cheap express shipping.

Will take a look at the Programs you mentioned. But im still searching if somebody has experience with the above mentioned programs.

ah that... still palying around.
I have some references that I look when needed: https://othermachine.co/support/techniques/speeds-and-feeds/

And reduce feedrates a bit as the Cyclone is not as solid.
