The pan-am riders group was slow to grow. Paul made it through most of North America before starting the pan-am group and as he continued cycling south and met cyclists along the way, he told them about the group. Those cyclists told other cyclists and it grew quite organically. I imagine that once other Asia-riding cyclists are met, the cycling-asia group will also take off in the same fashion.
