As it turns out, this is a new bug in IE9. I spent all day figuring this out and finally figured it out. If you're interested, see my findings here: https://connect.microsoft.com/IE/feedback/details/652752/media-screen-bleeds-into-print-mode
Basically what is supposed to happen is: in screen mode, normal text is hidden and Cufón canvases are visible, and the other way around in print mode. Because of the bug however, the screen styles bleed into print mode and ruin everything.
As this is clearly an IE issue, I suspect that this will be fixed one day by the IE team. But as that may take a while we'll probably implement some kind of a workaround soon. Argh, I was really hoping I wouldn't have to do another mini release.

Is there already a solution/workaround for this bug?

Hi,There should already be a work-around posted on the list. Basically, the problem is that in certain cases screen-only CSS leaks to print CSS in IE9. I have reported this bug to the IE team perhaps a year or so ago, but I guess nothing has happened. The work-around is something like this in your print style sheet:cufontext { display: inline }Simo
