Justifying piracy again eh Creepy? Tell us again about how you playing
all those songs you were "given" on a hard drive isn't piracy. I need a
laugh : certainly a better one than that lame cartoon you linked to. If
its not released yet you cant buy it simple : this is NO excuse for
stealing it. You should be ashamed : imagine if your customers pirated
the Windows only closed source proprietary SW you QA for a living. Yes,
you'd be out of a job and unable to boast about your Windows related
salary here anymore.

Actually there is some truth in that cartoon. Copy protection,
challenge response, web based authorization and so forth is a HUGE
time waster.

Things like iLok (a hardware key) are great because all you do is
plug the key in and the program works.
That's until you either lose or break the key.
Then, unless you have insurance, it becomes a huge and I mean huge
PITA to recover what you rightfully own.

IMHO copy protection schemes, DRM etc only inconvience the honest
people. The bad guys almost always find a way around it.

I agree, what would Ahlstrom say if it were the products he is QAing
that were pirated?
He would be singing a different tune I'm sure.

Creepy hates it when you talk about his job as a QA person.
Well, it's a job allthough it doesn't pay very well.
Maybe if you had a $20 weekly allowance from a dominant wife, SW piracy
might be a serious option.

I'm sure the allowance thing is just a joke with no proof.

Proof enough for me, Linonut = Creepy Ahlstrom.

It's not so much the threat of divorce, as making your every moment at home
a living hell.

My wife used to dole out my weekly allowance, $20, and then quiz me about
where I spent it, as she didn't expect me to buy snacks and such.
She's a lot more tolerant now, and it took years of resistance. I can buy a
$120 UPS when I need to.

That's beyond me too.
Perhaps he was showing off (as always), how well he was handling the
situation and persuaded his wife to become more tolerant?!?!
I don't think it was a joke.

I'm actually shocked. His wanting to wipe pee pees was obviously
pre-pubescent humour gone wrong. But this is worrying. It's almost up
their on a par with sMarti telling us about his sexual preferences and
his dead lover Gerard.

Does NetFlix provide HBO content (and in a timely fashion)?

It is possible to live without seeing the Game of Thrones if you do not like
the licensing made available to you. It is not like you have some obligation
or compulsion to have to watch it.

That falls under the "just wait" part.

Expecting a little self restraint might be asking too much of the common
man but clearly some of that exists within the general population as most of
us can manage to keep our junk in our pants.

That's what I do.

>Does NetFlix provide HBO content (and in a timely fashion)?

Yes, but you'll have to wait, which bothers me not at all. Watching
something next year is just as good as watching it this year...
