I thought I posted this, but now I can't find it.  Maybe I'm crazy...

We can order ten 48" sticks of t-track for $71 + $22 S/H, here: http://www.orangealuminum.com/t-track-1.html   Their pricing is funny, but it it is $7.12 for a 48" stick.  This is half the price of any other vendor I've found.

That would give us five tracks, 12-inch on center, for the full length of the table.  I have vague ideas of adding cross-wise track at the operator end, or maybe space them more closely in areas, to accommodate smaller pieces.  e.g. a 3" diameter Elvis belt buckle.  So I think I'll buy another two sticks (twelve total), and we'll figure out the details.  That would run $107, shipped.

Sound good?  Should we consider something else?  We don't *need* t-tracks, but I think we'll be better off with it.

Speak up in the next 24 hours.  Otherwise I'll order it Wed/Thurs.

Track arrived today.I'll buy suitable screws. Thinking about buying a third sheet of mdf, as the plans call for. Seems overkill, but what do I know? Opinions? What do you think, James?

Sweet!

A third sheet of mdf is probably a good idea.  Even if we don't use it for the table surface, it could be used as the shelf under the table.  Maybe we'll do a quick experiment and see if the router table is any stiffer with a third sheet and if not it becomes the shelf.  Either way I don't think its a waste.

It also may become saw dust after we cut out our first parts using it!!

Also that reminds me, any ideas for some thing to cut on the router.  I could draw something up or use an existing profile and program some g code?  Is there an electronic version (with decent resolution) of the collexion logo?

I can't think of a better first piece than the collexion logo! If it doesn't interfere with the function, I think wer should lightly cut it into the full work surface!

I can't make it out this weekend, but I might take friday afternoon off to go shopping and drop supplies of at collexion .

Btw, james...there was a question on our thread on joes forumm about axes I can't answer. Can you tasker a peek?

-dave.

Dropped them off today, as well as a bag of 100 self-tapping screws to fasten the bottom MDF to the rails, and 225 #8x1.5" pan head screws to fasten down the t-track.  Also dropped off another sheet of MDF...it's under the table and a be-atch to move single-handed!
