This is not a Marathi joke but still a good one.
This Joke told by Sri KS Narayanacharya in a Bhagavata lecture. Once they were doing some Homa and he asked a boy to quickly go to Pooja shop and get Dashangam to put in the Homa. When burned it gives good fragrance. The boy went and came back with 2 Panchangams. The priest was surprised and asked why he brought Panchangams to put into Homa instead of Dashangam . The boy said the shopkeeper did not have Dashangam. He gave 2 Panchangams because he thought 2 Panchangams = 1 Dashangam.

my take on this thread -

Meaning

Very senior scholars, with their child like nature, have shared(made) some jokes here.
Let the they live long in this world.
Alternatively, (following the trend of this thread) let those jokes be alive in this world.

(ज्योक् is a Vedic term that means - for a long time)

In the same lighter note, my mentor used to jokingly say the mantra which is used in shodasha upachara while offering akSata (आयनेते परयाणे...).

I was told there are humorous Slokas in Valmiki Ramayana also. I am not able to find one humor Sloka when Rama is returning to Ayodhya with Seeta after the war. It seems Vanara females like Taaraa and others wanted very much to see Seeta the cause of the war with Ravana. How beautiful She must be to create a war for Her sake? But when they saw Her they said 'God has made Seeta's every limb very beautiful but there is also one defect. She is missing a tail'.

I cannot find which Sloka is saying this in Valmiki Ramayana. Requesting scholars to kindly find it.

That is right - a donkey should be worshiped for thwarting the hurdles -

शुक्लांबरधरं = laden with washed clothes , विष्णुम् = seen allover the village ( विषू व्यप्तौ) , शशिवर्णम् = as white as Moon,
चतुर्भुजम् =  having four hands (विवक्षा) , प्रसन्नवदनम् = always having  a pleasant face सर्वविघ्नोपशान्तये ध्यायेत् ।

I recall a  pauraNika detailing the meaning of

शुक्लांबरधरं = (maami takes ) the liquid laden with a white cream (milk) ,
विष्णुम् = (and takes a ) dark colored 'decation;
शशिवर्णम् = (mixes them and gets  a) dark-brown liquid (coffee) ,
चतुर्भुजम् =  (mamii  handing it over with her two hands  and 'maamaa'  receiving with two hands, thus
handing over process involving )  four hands
(Having tasted the 'nectar' , maamaa's) face becomes pleasant and bright
सर्वविघ्नोपशान्तये ध्यायेत्: = (and if you pray maamaa at that time ] all your hurdles get easily resolved.

Rendering not quite ok.
One has to know how coffee was prepared those days.
A white cloth was used for filtering.
विष्णुम्  [coffee is] all-pervasive.
शशिवर्णम्  [after milk is added ]coffee [becomes rather] white like moon.

other meanings ok

There is an interesting episode about the famous 'पद्मनाभोऽमरप्रभुः' of the Vishnu Sahasra naama. A Sanskrit-illiterate bhakta, Poondaanam, took it as  'पद्मनाभो मरप्रभुः' and the story can be read here in English:

In Tamil:

//பத்மனாபோ மரப் ப்ரபுன்னு சொன்னது பொய் தானே//

I am not sure whether Patanjali meant taddhita-s
formed by the addition of tva/tal.

That is why it is classified as a joke, Sir. Otherwise, it would be merely re-validating Patanjali.

'Taddhita'=secondary derived nominals - so, abstract nouns (Hindu-tva, Indian-ness) and derived nominals/adjectivals (bhu-tal, (of) earth-surface)) are TADDHITA, even in most languages today. Patanjali says north western people are aakhyata-priya and dakshinatyas are taddhita- priya.
It holds in today's speech as well.

Patanjali referred to formations like laukika and vaidika
which are not formed by the addition of tva/tal
(though such addition yields taddhita-s
which is quite evident).

The question is,
did Patanjali illustrate, anywhere else, the idea of southerners being fond of taddhita-s
via any example of non-tva/non-tal formations?
